Title: | Fantastic Wood - Short novels for chairs |
Description: |
To celebrate the re-launch of the Grand Prix™ chair in its original version with wooden legs, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957, Fritz Hansen Store Milan has introduced a unique exhibition under the art direction of the Italian designer Diego Grandi and in collaboration with the tattoo artist Pietro Sedda. Diego Grandi has decided to celebrate the authenticity of the chair by writing a story directly onto its "skin". The lines of this iconic chair evoke the grace of a human body and for this reason the idea is to look at it like a body enhancing its peculiarities with an intimate, indelible, enduring sign. Grandi asked Pietro Sedda, an eminent and world-renown tattoo artist, to work with ink on nine chairs (seven wood and two leather), looking at the shape as a human figure, a body to be decorated. |
